Mystery Science Theater 3000-Mitchell

A Powerful Remedy for Your Boredom Problem.

Features: DVD

It's Mystery Science Theater 3000, America's only show that makes fun of really bad B movies from the comfort of a spaceship floating above Earth. Joel Hodgson, along with his mechanical companions, wisecracking Crow an well-read chick magnet Tom Servo, make suffering through Hollywood's worst films a breeze. Adding their own dialogue, barrage of witty remarks, and an occasional colorful skit, the next hour and a half will fly by like it were only 90 minutes. There's no ushers with flashlights, crying babies, or women with big hair to spoil the fun.

Joel Hodgson, Crow and Tom Servo are at it again when a bloated Joe Don Baker buoys across their screen as Mitchell, a flabby alcoholic detective who somehow lands foxy hooker Linda Evans (Yeah, right). When ex-martial arts guru John Saxon asks our hero, "How do you like your scotch?" Crow blurts out, "By the quart." In this episode we bid a fond farewell to Joel Hodgson as he jettisons himself homeward bound, leaving his ship and friends in the capable hands of new host Mike Nelson.

"...a nearly perfect amalgamation of premise, presentation, and performance..."  Bill Gibron, DVD Verdict
"...entertaining and, at times, riotous...[a] unique and funny program..."  DVDizzy.com
"There is so much going on in these shows...they are wonderful to watch over and over. Every time I watch them I hear a joke or see something new that I hadn't seen before."  John Sinnott, DVD Talk
"...for fans of the series and those just starting in on the scripted mockery experience."  Nate Yapp, Classic-Horror.com
"...reaches peak levels of lunacy, and every element of moviemaking starts to seem inherently ludicrous."  Noel Murray, The Onion A.V. Club

Editor's Note

Tom Servo, Crow and their human sidekick Joel Hodgson (in his farewell performance) are in peak form as they pick apart another particularly deserving bad movie: MITCHELL, starring Baker as a soft-boiled cop who'll do anything to crack the case, including awkwardly climbing over fences and yelling at children. Joe Don will never forgive them.

Plot Summary

After getting trapped on an orbiting satellite, an unlucky soul must watch some of the silliest movies ever made as part of a fiendish experiment dreamed up by a group of sinister scientists. But as he views the films with two robots, he actually starts having a good time. He and his companions begin to make fun of what they see up on the screen... and their observations are frequently hilarious.| In this entry of the "Mystery Science 3000" series, the three witty viewers watch the 1975 cop vs. drug dealers flick "Mitchell."
